Costa Rica’s insurance industry revs up to a new era with private auto policies

A new era in insurance is occurring in Costa Ricans as consumers will have to start wading through the claims, as the state insurer, the Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS), and its competitors all claim to be the best option.
One of the first private insurance operators to start selling and competing directly with the institute in vehicle insurance is Mapfre.
Assa Insurer is another player in Costa Rica's insurance market, being recently authorised by the Costa Rican Insurance Superintendence.
