Costa Rica’s medical appliances industry grows to $1.2 billion a year in exports

Exports from the medical appliances industry in Costa Rica are in the best of health.

Between the arrival in 1998 of Baxter Healthcare and now, the sector in Costa Rica has grown to 40 foreign and 120 local companies.

Thanks to a high level of investment, exports of medical instruments from Costa Rica reached $1.2 billion last year.
