Costa Rica's Mesoamérica acquires Colombia's Café OMA chain of coffee shops

Costa Rican company Mesoamérica announced the acquisition of 85 percent of Colombia's Café OMA.

The transaction includes 159 coffee shops, 11 restaurants and a coffee roasting facility.

Also included in the purchase is the company's packaged coffee export business, which is sold to more than 20 countries around the world.

Café OMA reported $46 million in earnings during 2011.
