Costa Rica's pensions seen collapsing by 2037

Costa Rica's disability, old age and funeral pension system is seen collapsing by 2037, according to a study by the country's social security institution, CCSS.

The forecast is three years earlier than previously reported by the institution, as the system's income is in decline and will be insufficient to cover costs by 2037.

By 2042, the CCSS's reserves will have drained completely, the study said.
