Costa Rica’s postal service moves into the Internet mailboxes business

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Correos de Costa Rica, the country’s postal service, plans to launch a service to provide mailboxes for air freight bought by shoppers on the Internet.

The service should be ready by November. If possible, however, the state utility aims to get it up and running in time for US Black Friday shopping.

Under the plan, each shopper will have an air-freight mailbox as well as access to a virtual store of products and offers.
