Costa Rica seeks to enter OECD

Monday, September 29, 2014

Costa Rica is seeking to enter the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, OECD, despite the junk status of its sovereign debt.

The country's leader, Luis Guillermo Solís, is pressing ahead with tax and other reforms he hopes will persuade the OECD group of countries to open accession talks.

Costa Rica has become Central America's high-tech hub over the past twenty years, and has attracted 250 international companies.
