Costa Rica sees health tourism and conventions as future

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

The Costa Rican Tourism Institute has awakened to the fact that eco-tourism is not enough to attract foreign visitors and will now focused on promoting medical tourism and conventions.

The head of the institute, Allan Flores, says that the investment in promoting the services is key to attracting new markets.

Costa Rica is well known as a green destination and the economy around eco-tourism has been well developed and will remain. However, the country has to look beyond that, according to Flores.
