Costa Rica strengthens its role in world of business

Costa Rica is strengthening its international presence as an attractive country in which to invest, do business and develop tourism.

The president of China, Hu Jintao congratulated his Costa Rican counterpart, Laura Chinchilla, for the fifth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Chinchilla also toured Europe last week, where she negotiated a $1.6 million donation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, as well as talks to improve import and export tariffs and trade with Germany.
