Costa Rica: Study Reveals 3G Has Better Coverage, But GSM Better Call Quality

The 3G cellular network operated by the state-owned Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) has better coverage than the 2G (or GSM).

But often calls can only be completed without problems and with quality of communications under the 2G network.

The anomaly is one of the main findings of a comprehensive technical study by the telecommunications regulator, Sutel.
