Costa Rica tipped as one of the world's leading travel destinations for 2012

Travelzoo has picked it's top travel destinations for hot deals in 2012, and only one US city, Orlando, made the cut.

"Based on our extensive market research, we predict that Costa Rica, Japan, the Mediterranean, Orlando and Thailand will offer the most outstanding deals next year," Travelzoo said.

Some airlines are boosting the number of flights to Costa Rica, which could signal more competition and more deals for consumers. That fits nicely with the fact the US dollar goes a long way in Costa Rica.
