Costa Rica to attract Chinese investors and tourists

In an attempt to attract more Chinese tourists and investors, Costa Rica is planning to open consulates in Shanghai and Hong Kong, the Central American nation's envoy to Beijing said.

The opening of the two consulates, which will is a project planned for 2014 that still must be approved by the foreign ministry, Ambassador Marco Vinicio Ruiz said.

The aim is to facilitate the coming of both Chinese investors and tourists to Costa Rica, the only Central American country with which Beijing has diplomatic relations.
