Costa Rica to have 4G before end of year

Cellular phone operators in Costa Rica are getting ready to introduce Fourth Generation, 4G, technology to the country, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

State-owned ICE plans to make the technology available before the end of the year, while Claro, subsidiary of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim's América Móvil, will introduce it early next year.

The two companies are working on promoting the new service through Expotelecom this week, allowing users a preview of the technology.
