Costa Rica to have five new national parks

At least five wild-life refuges in Costa Rica will soon be raised to the status of national parks, Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, the minister for Energy and the Environment announced.

The protected areas are in Golfito, the transformation of several state-owned landholdings in the River Savegre basin, a protected area in Turrubares and one in Moín, La República reports in Spanish.
