Costa Rica to support small firms to boost exports

The Costa Rican government is planning to give more support to small and medium companies, as well as agricultural producers, in order to bolster sluggish exports, the country's Foreign Trade Minister Alexander Mora said.

Costa Rica's exports reached $4.85 billion in the first five months of the year, a 0.2 percent growth compared with the same period last year.

But Mora said the country is heading towards a likely recovery, after receiving positive signs from companies such as Procter & Gamble and IBM to expand their operations in Costa Rica.
