Costa Rican authorities forecast higher growth and increased inflation for this year

Friday, July 30, 2010

Costa Rica’s economy will grow by 4 percent this year, up from the 3.2 percent that was previously forecast, the country’s central bank reported.

Inflation, however, will reach 2.4 percent and not 1.7 percent as forecast by the macro-economic program established at the beginning of the year.

Despite the rest of the changes, the bank plans no changes in the forecast of the current account deficit, which is expected to reach
3.8 percent by the end of the year.
