Costa Rica’s banks are the leaders in Central America, with the highest profits in the region.\

Reasons for the improvement include diversity of credit lines, more cash machines and the modernization of platforms for business.\
\
As a result, the four state-owned Costa Rican banks now have assets of $15.5 billion, Fitch Ratings Central America reported.\
