Costa Rican bill would impose tax on corporations in order to help boost security

A Costa Rican bill that would raise taxes for business owners passed a legislative committee.
Lawmakers want to use revenue from the tax to fund better public security measures.
According to lawmakers, the tax would raise $102 million. It would not affect small businesses that are registered with the Economy Ministry.
