Costa Rican cable TV company Cablevisión in final phase of talks on takeover by state firm Racsa

Racsa, Costa Rica's state-owned company that operates Internet and telecomunications services, wants to acquire cable TV provider Cablevisión.

Talks have been going on between the two parties for months and negotiations appear to be reaching a decisive point.

Those heading the talks are Francesco Caldart, Cablevisión's owner, and Claudio Bermúdez, the telecommunications manager at the Costa Rican power company ICE, of which Racsa is a subsidiary.
