Costa Rican chaos on asbestos tiles

Two months have passed since regulations were imposed in Costa Rica on the sale of asbestos cement (fibrocemento) but manufactures and distributors have failed to make the necessary declarations of accreditation to take part in the market.

As a result, the ministry of the Economy has insufficient powers to regulate sales while the asbestos tiles are being bought and sold without any controls, La República reports in English.
