Costa Rican colon is region's strongest currency

Costa Rica’s colón has been Latin America’s most stable currency over the last 12 months.

In August, while the currencies of Brazil, Mexico and Colombia tumbled, the colón stood at ¢541 to the US dollar, down by a mere 0.8% a year earlier.
