Careers in engineering, digital animation and economics are those most in demand in Costa Rica, according to recruiters.
As a result, the recommendation is that those who are heading into higher education should focus on these careers and so avoid the 39 percent of unemployment among young people that was revealed last year.
About a third of Costa Rican employers say that they cannot find young people with the skills that are needed, and the proportion rises to 60 percent in the case of large companies, according to a Manpower survey.
