Costa Rican executives waver over prospects for economy, says Deloitte study

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Costa Rican business executives remain mainly optimistic about the prospects for the nation’s economy, but they were less so some five months ago, according to a Deloitte poll published Monday.

Some 52.6 percent of the 176 leading companies that operate in Costa Rica believe that the situation is better than it was a year ago, compared with 36.6 percent that say nothing has changed, and 10.8 percent claim that matters are worse.

Five months ago, a similar study with the same sample provided 66 percent for the opinion that the economy was getting better.
