Costa Rican leader head for South America trips

Costa Rica’s president, Laura Chinchilla, will pay an official visit to Peru on May 13 with the aim of reinforcing trade and diplomatic relationships after the recent approval of the free trade agreement between both countries.

President Chinchilla departed for Lima, Peru’s capital, on Sunday noon and she has scheduled to meet with President Ollanta Humala on Monday at the Government Palace.

The Costa Rican leader is also scheduled to visit Ecuador on May 22 for the formal induction into office of Rafael Correa, according to the press of her country.
