Costa Rican state-owned ICE will be first to offer 4G

Costa Rica's state-owned telecommunications company, ICE, is on top of its competitors for offering fourth-generation cellular technology, 4G, Costa Rican newspaper La República reported.

ICE controls a larger number of cellular phone frequencies than its competitors.

The company plans to make use of this advantage and start to offer 4G services by the second half of the year.
