Costa Rican weather lifts pineapple prices in Europe

Pineapple lovers in Europe are facing hefty hikes in the price of their favorite tropical fruit, according to a new report.

For pineapple prices have soared to their highest level for almost three years as a result of weather problems in Costa Rica which have led to plummeting supplies. Costa Rica is the world’s biggest exporter of pineapples accounting for 90per cent of global fresh pineapple supply.
