Costa Rica's fiscal gap: Sensible measures or an electoral wrangle?

As Costa Rica faced fiscal problems in late 2017 and early 2018, the government of Luis Guillermo Solís opted for some unusual measures, in particular the placement of short-term bond emissions.

The nation's legislators is now analyzing whether the measures were prudent in the context at the time or an attempt to provide an unfair electoral advantage for the ruling party, La República reports in Spanish.
