Court maintains moratorium on construction of gold mine in Costa Rica
Wednesday, June 16, 2010

A Costa Rican court has reinforced measures to halt the construction of an open-cast gold mine in Costa Rica.
The mining company Industrias Infinito -- a local unit of Canada’s Vanessa Ventures -- was appealing against a 2008 resolution by the court.
A final judgement has yet to be reached in the case, on which ecologists have claimed for environmental damage by the project, known as Las Crucitas.
