Dam causes violent clashes in Guatemala

The construction of a hydroelectric dam in Guatemala, has prompted major divisions between local residents and lead to violent clashes.

At least two people died in recent days due to the confrontations between villagers who support the construction of the dam and those who demand authorities to put an end to this development.

The chosen location of the dam is near the town of Pojom, near the Mexican border.
