Déjà vu for Panama’s water supply. Minister says talks underway on action before the problem gets any worse

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Panama City is again suffering from water problems that led to weeks of shortages through the end of 2010 and residents have been advised to boil murky water.

The reason is the same -- water turbidity forcing the treatment plant at Chilibre to close.

Franklin Vergara, the health minister said said discussions are underway on courses of action to be taken before the problem of water grows. Last year thousands of citizens had to rely on deliveries by truck.
