Denis O'Brien faces uphill struggle over Digicel debt mountain

Ireland’s richest man, Denis O’Brien, faces an uphill struggle struggle to refinance the debt pile of his former cash cow, Digicel, in Central America.

Digicel, the mobile telephone company, he launched in 2001, is struggling to refinance a debt of $6.7 billion. Digicel operates in 31 markets in Central America, the Caribbean and some Pacific islands, the Financial Times reports.
