Despite bad weather, Costa Rica marks up successful for pineapple exports

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

Despite the unfavorable weather conditions at the end of last year, Costa Rica's pineapple harvest was not affected.

Heavy rainfall had provoked concerns about the condition of the crop but suppliers expect a similar production volume as the previous year.

Some marketers are even anticipating an increase in volumes this year, with C.H Robinson expecting to market up 15 percent more pineapples, according to the company's Chris Harris.
