Despite severe storm damage, melon growers in Honduras are sticking to their $57 million target for exports this year

Despite damage caused by a severe tropical storm, melon growers in Honduras are sticking to their 2011-2012 target.

The goal is to earn export revenues of some $55 to 57 million, according to two of the companies, Hondex and Agrolibano.

Last season, melon exports generated hard-currency earnings of $52.8 million.
