Digicel closes half of its outlets in Honduras in drive to attract banks and supermarkets

Cellphone company Digicel opened 500 shops and other outlets when it launched in Honduras, but only half of them have remained, said company spokeswoman Larissa Espinal.

“We’ve cut back on the shops but we’ve doubled our points of sale from other sources,” said Espinal.

Digicel finds that it has developed successful alliances sales with banks and supermarkets.
