Dole Food faces new imbroglio in Central America

California-based Dole Food Company was accused of publishing misleading information about its banana cultivation practices in Guatemala.
The company claims its bananas are grown using sustainable methods, however, a California resident, who filed a claim to the Federal Court, found they are grown using destructive and polluting methods.
Dole Food has been subject to lawsuits in Central America in the past. In 2007, a group of banana plantation workers sued the company for allegedly using illiegal pesticides.
