A subsidiary of top banana producer Dole Food has temporarily halted activities in Honduras after its containers were attacked during protests in the country, which is both a key US ally and a major source of illegal migration that has rankled the White House.
Anti-government protests in Honduras, which have been simmering since April, erupted last week against planned education and health restructuring that critics said amounted to privatization., the Financial Times reports.
