Doubts emerge on Carlos Slim hydro project in Panama
After five years of construction Ideal Panamá, owned by Mexican magnate Carlos Slim, has finally completed the Bajo de Mina hydroelectric plant in Panama.
But doubts are emerging over plans to bring the project on stream in August of this year.
In February, Panama’s Supreme Court reaffirmed as unlawful the 2007 resolution that the National Public Services Authority issued to grant Ideal a permit to generate power.
