Dutch firms to build new port in Limón, Costa Rica

Dutch firm APM Terminals signed a contract in Costa Rica with two world-leaders in construction and dredging to develop the new container port at Moín, Costa Rican daily La República reported.

The contract, signed with Dutch companies Van Oord and BAM International, is for developing the first stage of the port, expected to start in the first quarter next year.

The new port will be built in Limón, which currently handles 80 percent of the country's sea trade, and will cost a total of $1 billion.
