Friday, January 6, 2012

Growth in Central American countries will be between 2 and 7 percent this year, according to Fitch Ratings.

Panama's economy will grow by 7 percent; Costa Rica 4; Nicaragua 3.5; Honduras 3.3; Guatemala 3.1 and El Salvador 2 percent.

Fitch added that "dispite delays in disbursements of credit and the challenging economic environment, the profitability of the region's banking system will continue to improve in 2012."
