Ecuador and Guatemala aim to conclude talks on trade agreement by mid-year

Delegates from Ecuador and Guatemala began their first round of negotiations with the purpose of reaching a trade and economic agreement.

Ecuador is interested in reaching an agreement because it currently exports to Guatemala petroleum, medicines, electronic appliances and seafood.

Ecuadorian authorities expect to finish the talks with Guatemala in the first half of this year.
