El Salvador airport mulls public-private partnership
Monday, April 23, 2012

El Salvador’s Cuscatlán International Airport is considering a public-private partnership (PPP) in order to fund proposed airport upgrades.
The airport’s 2030 master plan is estimated to cost $800 million to implement.
For a PPP to go ahead, the legislative assembly would need to approve a bill currently under discussion to create a PPP framework. Under the current law, private projects have to be approved individually by the legislature.
