El Salvador and Nicaragua worry private sector

The Central American private sector is concerned over two proposed taxes from Nicaragua and El Salvador, claiming they will greatly affect trade and competitiveness in the region.

El Salvador wants to introduce a tax to fund an emergency response service in case of road accidents.

Meanwhile, Nicaragua is looking to introduce a tax on all goods shipped in and out of the country, in order to fund a security system for the country's customs offices.
