El Salvador and Panama advance in digital government

El Salvador and Panama made important advances within this year's United Nations E-government Development Index.

The index, known as the EGDI, is published every two years, and is divided into four categories.

The top category -- very high EGDI -- does not include any Latin American country. The "high" category now includes Panama and El Salvador, along with Costa Rica, which reached that level two years ago. Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua are in the third, of "medium", category.
