El Salvador authorities propose new airport

El Salvador's port authority, CEPA, announced plans to build an airport in the area surrounding La Unión port project, on the country's Pacific coast.

The authorities have considered a private-public association to carry out the airport project, said Nelson Vanegas, president of CEPA.

Another project the CEPA is planning is a ferry to connect ports in the region's Pacific coast, for which Costa Rica and Nicaragua have expressed interest in participating.
