El Salvador backed by World Trade Organization on extension of free zones

Friday, October 29, 2010

The government of El Salvador reported that it has been backed by the World Trade Organization in its plea to continue with the fiscal privileges of the free zones, at least for 2011.

The deputy trade minister, Mario Roger Hernández, said that the organization was happy with the country to continue the tax incentives up to 2015.

In 2007, El Salvador was granted an extension of the tax breaks for companies in the free zones.
