El Salvador bill proposes to suspend all mining

The government of El Salvador presented a project to Congress to suspend mining activities because they damage the environment.

The projects aims to suspend all active and future mining operations in the country, said Armando Flores, from the country's Ministry of Economy and Environment.

The project also proposes to create a committee to frequently supervise conditions in mining projects in order to allow them to continue operating.
