El Salvador earns $340 million in coffee exports within eight months of crop year

El Salvador earned $340 million in coffee exports in the first eight months of the current coffee year, more than double it earned in the same period a year earlier.

In volume terms, exports grew by 47 percent, to 1.7 million bags of 46 kilograms.

The 2010-2011 coffee year will close on September 30.
