El Salvador helpless to counter impact of oil prices

El Salvador, an importer of raw materials, has no way of defending itself against the vagaries of the world oil market.
The Economy ministry said that since the beginning of this year, oil prices have risen, with a knock-on effect on other products.
El Salvador has few options. Last year, the country paid $1.4 billion in oil.
