El Salvador increases online banking services

Monday, January 13, 2014

An application for mobile devices launched by Banco Agrícola in El Salvador has reported average monthly transactions worth $1 million.

The application is part of the bank's strategy to increase banking in the country, Banco Agricola's small enterprises and personal banking vicepresident Hernando Suárez said.

"Our countries need to expand banking services. Security issues can be dealt by increasing banking services online, which minimizes the need to carry cash," Suárez said.
