El Salvador is bottom in Latin American insurance

The insurance industry amounts to only 2.3 percent of El Salvador's economy, the lowest of any country in Latin America.

If El Salvador wants to build its insurance industry it needs to create more incentives for investors, says Horst Agata, director of Gen Re México.

According to Agata, China has shown that growth of the insurance industry there has grown at 14 percent a year.
