El Salvador lags region in jobs and investment

El Salvador is lagging behind the rest of the Central America countries in terms of investment and jobs.

In fact, the government still has no official figures as to the amount of foreign direct investment the country received last year, and is unable to make predictions for this year.

In terms of employment, only three in ten Salvadorans managed to get a formal job last year, according to official figures.
